Thinking about the use of language: I am a person who likes to use difficult words.

Thank you all for your help.
Kakishima will be in charge of this staff blog.
Today I would like to write a little about language usage.
What's important in this type of activity is compatibility, but above all, conversation.
I think the biggest factor is the choice of language.
Actually, I have a habit of using difficult words and somewhat formal expressions.
There are various reasons, for example...
・I want to look intelligent
・I feel like the writing is more compact and cool.
・I want to convey what I want to say more accurately
Etc. But when you actually ask people around you for their reactions, you often hear them say it's hard to understand, and it creates a sense of distance.
The most difficult part is when you use words that are easy to misinterpret.
Recently, I've been having trouble with the word "high barrier to entry."
I sometimes hear people say, "SALON seems too out of my league...", but after looking into it, I found that this is actually the wrong way to use the phrase.
An easy way to confuse this is to say "too high-class or elegant, making it difficult to enter or do." A similar meaning is that it is often used to mean "a high hurdle."
However, originally, it was a custom to feel reluctant to enter someone's house or face them if you were rude to them.
→It seems to mean "high barrier to entry."
Additionally, when comparing things to something else, I tend to use strangely complicated analogies.
It's an excuse, but many of those expressions have a nice feel to them, so maybe it's inevitable that people want to use them...
It would be counterproductive to misuse words in an attempt to make yourself look bigger.
That is why I feel it is important to correctly understand the meaning of words and use them correctly.
However, it is also true that it is not possible to fix it suddenly, so I still find myself wanting to rely on difficult words.
I would like to continue thinking about my use of language, including my own conflicts.
What do you think about language? Do you like using difficult words? Or do you value clarity?
Currently, SALON is planning a wonderful event where language usage will not be a concern.
We will inform each member as soon as the details are finalized, so please wait.
Men and women who are not yet members but are interested in SALON are welcome to contact us without thinking that it is too difficult to join (misuse of the word).
If there is a chance, I would appreciate your help again next time.
