Once the rainy season ends in July, the temperature and humidity rise dramatically.
Before you know it, you'll start to hear more and more people saying things like, "I feel tired," "I have no appetite," or "I can't sleep at night."
That could be the beginning of summer fatigue!
Before the real heat sets in, now is the chance to gradually incorporate new habits to look after your body.
This time, it can be done by both men and women.A routine for managing your health to prevent summer fatigueWas put together.
1. The way you drink is important when it comes to hydration
In the summer, I tend to drink only cold drinks,
In fact, this is one of the causes of stomach and intestinal problems.
・As soon as you wake up → Drink a glass of room temperature water or lukewarm water
・When out and about → Drink cold drinks slowly, using a straw
・Evening → Choose caffeine-free teas that don't cool the body too much, such as barley tea or herbal tea.
It's not just about drinking a lot,Be aware of timing and temperatureJust by doing this, you will see a change in how tired your body feels!
2. On days when you don't have an appetite, eat a light and healthy meal
There are days when you don't feel like eating because of the heat.
The key is not to force yourself to eat a lot, but to choose light yet nutritious foods!
Here are some recommendations:
・Cold udon noodles + natto + soft-boiled egg
・Ochazuke topped with pickled plums and whitebait
・Yogurt + honey + fruit
It is more important to be conscious of "regulating your diet even a little" rather than "not eating."
3. "Cool down your body and mind" for those hot and humid nights
If you can't sleep even though the air conditioner is on, nights like that may be a sign that your brain and nerves are not getting enough rest!
・Try not to look at your smartphone at night (at least 30 minutes before)
・Just moving the air with air conditioning and a fan can improve your quality of sleep
・It is effective to lightly stretch your neck and calves before going to bed.
If you can't sleep, it's not your fault. With a few simple changes, you can improve the quality of your sleep.
4. Create a mini reset period in your weekday routine
Especially in the midst of busy days, if you make it a habit to take a short time to calm your mind and body, you will be less likely to get tired!
- Walk outside for just 3 minutes during your lunch break
・After returning home, stretch before taking a shower
・Soak in the bathtub for even 10 minutes (great effect on relieving air conditioning fatigue)
By the way, I, Umino, also make sure to take a good bath in the bathtub even in the summer, and I try to walk from my house to the station as much as possible.
There are days when you might think it's a bit of a hassle, but having this habit will make your body and mind feel refreshed more than you'd think!
You don't have to do everything perfectly, just do as much as you can on the days you can.
