"Taking care of yourself" is actually a little difficult.
Always I am indebted.
Today's post will be by Umino 🌊
Are you all taking good care of yourselves?
The phrase "take care of yourself" sounds nice, but if you take it too far, you can unknowingly become self-centered.
Prioritizing your own feelings and convenience so much that you become oblivious to how others are feeling, is something that can happen to anyone, even without malicious intent.
When I'm busy, I sometimes get so overwhelmed with my own affairs that I put off taking care of those around me.
The tricky thing about being self-centered is that the person themselves is often unaware of it.
When your own feelings of "This is what I think" or "This is what I want to do" become too strong, you lose the capacity to imagine the other person's perspective or situation.
As a result, the people around you may gradually become tired of you or start to distance themselves from you.
Sometimes, we think we're taking care of ourselves, but before we know it, we're not taking care of those around us.
That's why I think what's important is having a good sense of balance between taking care of yourself and being considerate of those around you.
For example, when you're spending time with someone, instead of just thinking about how you're having fun, try to be a little more mindful of whether the other person is also feeling comfortable.
That alone can make the atmosphere surprisingly more relaxed, and it can also significantly change the impression others have of you.
I believe that a good relationship can only last when you have both the ability to cherish your own feelings and the ability to be considerate of the other person.
Taking care of yourself does not mean being selfish.
Those who take care of their own mind and body while also paying attention to those around them are ultimately the ones who can live comfortably themselves.
Even amidst a busy daily life, why not take some time to reflect and ask yourself, "Am I truly paying attention to my surroundings right now?"
